As you may know, Cova recently became a MetLife company. They also have a new name now that better reflects their identity as a member of the MetLife family MetLife Investors. Cova Financial Services Life Insurance Company will be known as MetLife Investors Insurance Company subject to approval by state regulatory agencies.
Cova Financial Life Insurance Company will be known as MetLife Investors InsuranceCompany of California subject to approval by California insurance regulators. First Cova Financial Services Life Insurance Company will be known as First MetLife Investors Insurance Company subject to approval by New York insurance regulators. Even more important, their new name indicates the expanded role they expect to play in helping their clients reach their financial goals. In the financial world, there is growing recognition of the interdependent nature of investing, protecting and distributing assets. MetLife Investors intends to be at the forefront in meeting these interconnected needs with advanced, comprehensive products and services. Their new corporate office is in Newport Beach, California.
MetLife is the US life insurance company by assets behind Prudential. MetLife offers a variety of individual life and property casualty insurance products including homeowners and auto coverage, as well as savings, retirement, and other financial services for groups and individuals. Its insurance affiliates include Metropolitan Property and casualty, Metropolitan Tower, and Texas Life; it is also buying fellow insurer GenAmerica. The company's State Street Research subsidiary and 45 percent owned Nvest affiliate provides asset management services to institutions and individuals. MetLife has filed to demutualize and sell about 31 percent of the company to the public.
