Physician faculty members of the John A. Burns School of Medicine of the University of Hawaii founded University Health Alliance UHA in 1996. These physicians recognized the need for a health insurance company that put quality healthcare first. Dental Service is a nonprofit dental service corporation founded in 1962. It is committed to provide quality dental care at reasonable costs to as many people as possible in Hawaii. Approximately 96percent of all licensed dentists in Hawaii are its member dentists, serving more than 510,000 beneficiaries. UHA is pleased to offer it to their customers as well as their associates.

UHA has also partnered with Hawaii Family Dental Centers . HFDC provides for all your dental needs, from general dentistry to a full range of specialists. HFDC is the state's largest group dental practice, with eleven centers statewide. You can find all of their specialists under one roof. HFDC is the exclusive provider of dental services for UHA Standard Dental and UHA Dental Plus plans. TeamPraxis provides UHA with network infrastructure and support for electronic medical claims processing. TeamPraxis is Hawaii's largest independent provider of physician administrative and information technology services. Through this partnership, UHA is able to offer its members convenient services, such as electronic reimbursements.
