In 1991, Dr. Antognini returned to the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine as an Assistant Professor in Residence. He is currently engaging in original research, investigating the mechanisms of anesthesia and the factors influencing anesthetic requirements. Dr. Antognini serves as the Research vice Chair, mentoring junior faculty who are engaged in original research. He also serves as an examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology. The American Board of Anesthesiology certifies Dr. Antognini.
