DONNELL, DAVID; MD
Dr. David N. Donnell, M.D began practice in Dallas in 1991. He attended Baylor University for his undergraduate education and completed a Master of Science degree in Microbiology and Immunology at The University of Oklahoma. He then graduated Magna cum Laude with his Doctor of Medicine M.D degree from, the University of Oklahoma.
While his practice is primarily related to Primary Care Medicine, he has specialized interest in disorders of the immune system, such as allergies, asthma, and auto immune disease. His subspecialty training includes management of chronic infections that affect the immune system, such as Hepatitis C, adenoviral infections, herpes virus infections, and HIV infection.
He participates in numerous clinical trials investigating new treatments for these medical problems. Dr. Donnell has a full time clinical and research practice in the Uptown area of Dallas and a part time clinical practice in rural East Texas at the Cedar Creek Lake area.
Health plans have a specific limit each year for coverage for preventative services and require participating physicians to follow guidelines established by the US Public Health Service. These are very minimal guidelines meant to screen for common diseases and to notify patient and physician of the possible need for further testing or treatment.
