JONES, ROBERT; MD

Dr. Robert Jones is MCVI's Chief Surgical Officer. He joined MCVI in the summer of 1999 although he has been in practice in the tri-city area since 1987. He graduated from Rush Medical School in 1976 and completed his residency in General and Cardiothoracic Surgery at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina. He also has an undergraduate degree in English Literature from Williams College, Williamstown, Massachusetts.
Dr. Jones, the Chief Surgical Officer of MCVI, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and belongs to the Michigan Society of Thoracic Surgeons. He was certified in General Surgery in 1985 and Cardiothoracic Surgery in 1987. He recertified in 1997.
Previous to joining MCVI, Dr. Jones was the Assistant Professor in the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department of Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois. He is currently practicing at St. Mary's of Michigan, Saginaw, and Mid Michigan Medical Center, Midland.
