Edward Bubienko’s specialty is in Radiology and Body Imaging. He works with South Sacramento Medical Center in the Medical Imaging department.

Edward Bubienko was born in a small rural village in Poland in 1956. His family immigrated to the U.S. when he was almost 7 years old and he grew up in Southern California where he attended public schools and graduated from UC Irvine in 1983.

Prior to practicing medicine, he earned multiple degrees including a Ph.D. in Chemistry and worked at General Electric doing final testing of nuclear magnetic resonance instrumentation and eventually managing the Final Test section. His leap into medicine coincided with his 12 year old niece's diagnosis of a brain tumor. Her illness was a call to action for him and an inspiration to help others through the study and practice of medicine.

Keeping your family healthy at Kaiser Permanente is easy because their doctors have the benefit of working as an integrated team. They know each other well and work together daily. They share a common facility and an information system so all members of the medical team can share real-time information about each patient. They know your medical history and medications, your illnesses and operations hence they can provide you with customized care with every visit.

Their radiology department boasts state of the art equipment and is staffed 100 percent with board certified radiologists, most with advanced fellowship training in a variety of areas and that level of service and commitment is available to their patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That makes his job easy. His colleagues and he enjoy working together, and supporting one another personally and professionally.

He read radiology books when he is free. His family and friends tease him about it, but his pleasure reading is always radiology. He read journals and textbooks because he feels that it's fun to learn about new advances in radiology and to study rare cases. He especially likes being the kind of radiologist that other doctors bring their unusual cases to for help with diagnosis. Besides doing general radiology, he also specializes in performing CT and ultrasound guided biopsies.

When he is not reading radiology books, he likes to play basketball and golf, tend my vegetable garden.
